"From railroad workers to Flying Tigers: a legacy of progress" is an article co-authored by Major General William S. Chen, the first Chinese American to wear the rank of major general in the U.S. Army.

Major General William S. Chen is of the second of three generations of military service in his family. His father Moon Chen served in WWII as an air corps pilot with the Flying Tigers; his older brother Bob served in the Cold War in the Army as a paratrooper. He and his younger brother Moon Jr. served in Vietnam, Moon Jr was an Army medical service officer before becoming a renowened expert on cancer health disparities. Moon Jr's daughter Debbie is an Afghanistan & Iraq war vet, Major, US Army helicopter pilot.
